What is IBPS SO Exam?
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection-Specialist Officer Exam commonly known as IBPS SO exam is a national level competitive exam conducted every year by IBPS for the selection of scale I officers in participating public sector banks in India.
IBPS full form is the “Institute of Banking Personnel Selection“. IBPS started this exam in 2011 to recruit candidates for almost all public sector banks in India.

Exam Pattern:
There will be three stage in IBPS SO 2020 Exam:
IBPS SO Preliminary Examination
There will be three sections in IBPS SO Preliminary Exam. English Language, Reasoning, and General Awareness. There will be a total of 150 questions carrying 125 marks.
(A)Preliminary Examination: For the post of Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari
(B)Preliminary Examination: For the Post of IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer
Important points for Preliminary Examination:
- Preliminary Examination will be an objective type question paper
- There is negative marking provision in Prelims exam
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer
- There are total 150 questions which should be attempted in 120 minutes
- There will be sectional cut off as decided by examination authority and candidates will have to secure minimmum qualifying marks in each section.
- The questions paper will be in both English & Hindi language.

IBPS SO Online Application
Application process for IBPS SO 2020 Exam will be starting from 2nd November 2020 and candidates can submit their online applications from the official website until 23rd November 2020. Application from online mode only will be considered.

Procedure for applying online
- (1) Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS’s authorized website www.ibps.in and click on the Home Page to open the link “CRP Specialist Officers” and then click on the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP- Specialist Officers (CRP-SPL-X)” to open the On-Line Application Form.
- (2) Candidates will have to click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” to register their application by entering their basic information in the online application form. After that, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. The candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using the Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars if needed.
- (3) Candidates are required to upload their Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression, A handwritten declaration
- (4) Candidates are advised to carefully fill in the online application form themselves as no change is permitted after clicking on FINAL SUBMIT Button.
Fee Payment:
After completing the procedure of applying on-line including payment of fees, the candidate should take a printout of the system generated on-line application form, Registration Number and Password for future reference.

IBPS SO 2020 Admit card can be downloaded from the official website www.ibps.in. Admit Card for the online Preliminary examination will be available in December 2020. Steps to download Admit Card:
- Step 1: Visit the Official IBPS Website i.e www.ibps.in/
- Step 2: Click on Call Letters Link.
- Step 3: In the new window, enter your Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth. Also, fill the Captcha Box.
- Step 4: Click on the “SUBMIT” button.
- Step 5: IBPS SO Admit Card will be displayed on the screen. You can save the Admit Card in Pdf format or print the same as per your choice.

The Preliminary examination result has been issued by the Institute of Banking Personnel on 6th January 2021 and the result for the online Main examination will be issued in February 2020.
