NTA UGC NET Eligibility Criteria June 2021 exam

National Testing Agency will soon release the examination notice for the June 2021 exam.

All candidates who wish to join Indian Universities and Colleges as an Assistant Professor or candidates who wish to pursue research work may apply for the UGC NET June 2021 exam.

The first and the most important thing for the UGC NET Exam is to check the Eligibility Criteria. Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the complete Eligibility Criteria for the June 2021 exam before proceeding with the online application process.

In this post, we will summarise the complete UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for those candidates who are preparing for the NET exam.

UGC NET Eligibility will consist of the below given sections.

  • Educational Qualification
  • Marks percentage in post-graduation exam
  • Age Limit

Educational Qualification

All candidates who are post-graduate and completed their qualifying exam with the subjects specified by the UGC in their official notification can apply for the UGC NET exam. Candidates can check the list of the subjects they can choose in the official notification.

NOTE: Candidates can choose the subjects which they have in their post-graduation. If their post-graduation subject is not mentioned by the UGC in their list then they can choose any related subject.

Candidates who are still pursuing their post-graduation final year or waiting for their result of the post-graduation can also attend the exam subject. These candidates must share the post-graduation qualify proof within 2 years after the declaration of the UGC NET result.

Marks Percentage Criteria

A minimum of 55% marks required in order to be eligible for the UGC NET exam however SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ Transgender category will get a relaxation in post-graduation percentage marks.

Age Limit

UGC has specified a maximum of 30 years of Age as on the date of the eligibility. There is no maximum Age criteria for the Assistant Professor post.
