SSC JE 2020 Exam: The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC Junior Engineer exam each year to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Junior Engineer in Various government organizations of the Government of India.

Update (1st October 2020): SSC has shared a notice about uploading the photograph during the SSC JE 2020 online application process. As per the notification, The date on which the photograph has been taken should be clearly printed on the photograph. Applications without the date printed on the photograph shall be rejected. Update (22nd September 2020): Staff Selection Commission has shared the SSC JE 2019 Paper-2 exam dates. SSC JE 2019, Paper-2 will be held on January 31, 2021.

SSC JE Notification:
SSC has finally released the SSC JE 2020 exam official notification. The notification date has already revealed by the SSC in their official exam calendar.
As per the official notification, The registration process will start on 1st October 2020 and ends on 30th October 2020. Paper 1 will be conducted from 22nd March 2021 to 25th March 2021. SSC JE 2020 Exam Pattern and Selection Process
If you are preparing for SSC JE 2020 Exam then it is advised to check the exact exam pattern and make the preparations accordingly. There will be two Papers in the SSC JE selection process. Paper 1 will be an online Computer Based Test(CBT) and Paper 2 will be a descriptive type of paper. Please find the details below about each paper.
SSC JE 2020 Exam Pattern:
SSC JE 2020 exam will be conducted in two stages:
- 1. SSC JE Paper 1(Computer Based Test)
- 2. SSC JE Paper 2(Descriptive Test)
SSC JE 2020 Exam Paper 1(Online CBT):
In SSC JE 2020 Paper 1 there will be three sections. General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and the third section will be based on the respective engineering sections like Civil & Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
In Paper-I and Paper-II for the General Engineering section, the candidate will be required to attempt only the part as per the option given in the application form filled by the candidate.
For example, if candidates are applying for the post of “Junior Engineer (Civil)” or “Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts)” should attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II. For the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical), candidates should attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) should attempt Part-C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II
Candidates will be given 2 hours’ time to attempt 200 total questions. Each question will carry 1 mark.

Important points for Paper 1(Online Test):
- Paper 1 will be an objective type question exam
- There will be a negative marking for each wrong answer
- 0.25 marks will be deducted from total marks for each wrong answer
- There will be 200 questions containing 200 marks
- The total time duration of the online exam will be 120 minutes.
- The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.
SSC JE 2020 Paper 2(Descriptive Type )
Only those candidates who have successfully qualified Paper 1 and get minimum qualifying marks will be called for Paper 2. It will be a descriptive type of test.

Important points for Paper 2:
- Candidates are allowed to bring their own Slide–Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Table and Steam Table for Paper-II only
- Paper-II will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and Part in English will be awarded zero marks.
- In Paper-II, candidates must write their correct Roll Number and Subject at the prescribed places on the cover page of the Answer Book.
- Candidates must also affix signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the relevant columns in the Answer Book
- Candidates are strictly advised not to write any personal identity e.g. name, roll number, mobile number, address, etc inside the Answer Book (Paper-II).
Important points about Selection Process:

- Candidates need to secure minimum qualifying marks in Paper 1 and Paper 2
- Minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper-II are as follows: UR: 30%, OBC/ EWS: 25%, and Others: 20%
- Based on the normalized marks scored in the (Paper-I) i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Paper-2
- Based on the performance in Paper-I+Paper-II, candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification.
- Final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I+Paper-II and the preference of Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations exercised by them at the time of Document Verification.

SSC JE Application Fee
- (a) Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only)
- (b) Fee can be paid through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
- (c) Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.
SSC JE Online Application
For the online registration for SSC JE 2020 Exam candidates can visit Staff Selection Commission official website. The application process mode is only online. Offline applications will not be accepted by the commission. Please find below the complete application process.

- d. Information about the Board, Roll Number, and Year of Passing the Matriculation (10th) Examination.
- e. Scanned color passport size recent photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
- f. Scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB). Image dimension of the signature should be about 4.0 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height).

The process of SSC JE 2020 online application will consist of two parts:
- I. One-time Registration.
- II. Filling online Application for the Examination.
Part-I (One-Time Registration):
- Step 1: Visit the official website of SSC i.e www.ssc.nic.in
- Step 2: Click on the “Register Now” link provided in the “Login” Section
- Step 3: The candidates are required to enter their basic personal details such as name, date of birth, residential address, category.
- Step 4: Choose the exam center as per your convenience from the list.
- Step 5: Verify all the details and click on ‘I Agree’ at the end of the page.
- Step 6: A confirmation page will be generated with the Registration ID and other details if the registration is successful. It is important for the applicants to save it for future references.
Part II Online application submission:
- Step 1: Once the first part of the registration is complete, proceed for ‘Part II Registration”.
- Step 2: Enter the Registration ID that you received in Part I and your Date of birth for logging in.
- Step 3: Online Payment: Pay the application fee either through Debit Card or Credit Card or Net Banking. Offline Payment: Select the offline mode payment, download the system generated the challan, and submit the fee by cash at any bank.
- Step 4: Upload the scanned images of the following documents – photograph and signature.
- Step 5: Click on the ‘Submit’ button. A confirmation page will be generated. Applicants are required to download the confirmation and take photocopies for future references.

Candidates can download SSC JE 2020 Admit Card from the official website in the month of February 2021. We will update you about the availability of the Admit Card once it is available to download. The admit card will be updated once the application process is over and the exam centers are finalized.
Steps to download Admit Card:
- Step 1: Go to the Official Website of SSC i.e ssc.nic.in/
- Step 2: Click on Call Letters Link.
- Step 3: In the new window, enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and D.O.B./Password. Also, fill the Captcha Box.
- Step 4: Click on the “SUBMIT” button.
- Step 5: SSC JE Admit Card will be displayed on the screen. You can save the Admit Card in Pdf format or print the same as per your choice.
